The West End and the World
The West End of the island of Alameda, California has a history of creativity and events. It was the Western terminous for the first transcontinental railway, the home of such writers as Jack London and Robert Louis Stevenson, the origin of the first flight of the China Clipper flying boat, of the shelf stable peanut butter (Skippy) and the departure point of the aircraft carrier carrying the Doolittle Raid on Toyko.
It is currently the home of many productive leaders and activities.
