There are a few people who know of me and my tirades against Apple. Some have accused me of oversimplifying the company’s success as purely hinged on superior marketing. To those people I say – I might just be humbled into eating an Apple pie.
I have always used an iPod for my music needs and the device has served me well. But, by no means was I even remotely prepared to buy an iPad – given of course my marketing centric arguments and the price of the device. So, how does one convince me that the company is just not about marketing without making me buy another Apple device? Why by gifting me one of course! And it was IBN Live that gifted it to me, for a winning entry of mine on their New India contest.
The iPad has been great so far, and the more I use it the more I like it. The sheer volumes of applications make it even more interesting – and whatever little I have seen is barely scratching the surface. Sure they have some issues (such as the lack of multi-tasking or support for flash) but updates could take care of it. (The flash bit will probably require third party software.) Until then I have more exploring to do.
Afterthought:
It has been long since I last posted, and hopefully the frequency of my blogging increases. WP on my iPad should help…
And to a special person who absolutely loved me wining the iPad. You know who you are…
